In the Light of Night
A fictional exhibition concept designed to raise awareness about light pollution through immersive design, motion and interactivity.
01 / Exhibition design & identity
Designing a full exhibition experience
Created in collaboration with Kyrylo Romanyuk and Loan Laurent, this project led us to design the entire visitor experience: visual identity, printed materials, audiovisual content, interactive devices and communication. An extensive research phase informed our reflection on the impacts of artificial night light. We chose to approach this theme with a sensitive and poetic angle, playing on colour temperatures — directly linked to the effects of light on our environment.

02 / Motion design
Light as a narrative medium
Several motion design pieces were created to punctuate the exhibition path, covering topics such as the history of lighting, the consequences of light pollution on biodiversity, and its effects on humans. The goal was to raise visitor awareness by using light itself as a narrative medium, creating an experience that is both educational and sensory.
03 / Interactive experience
Simulating the city at night
To enrich the visitor journey, we designed an interactive tablet experience. After a sound immersion, visitors are invited to participate in a simulation game where they design the lighting of a public space. This scenario helps them understand the many challenges of urban planning and realise that lighting does not only serve human needs, but also influences all surrounding ecosystems.
04 / Printed materials

Information design for the exhibition path
The exhibition is accompanied by a series of printed materials including posters, educational panels, publications and various mediation elements. Each piece highlights striking data and key information to guide visitors throughout their journey.
05 / Digital communication
A coherent digital presence
Alongside the exhibition identity, we designed all digital communication: an eco-designed website and social media content, ensuring a communication that is coherent and true to the spirit of the project.
06 / Urban night photography

Rennes under artificial light
As part of our research into light pollution, we photographed the Rennes metropolitan area at night, documenting the artificial lighting that characterises the urban landscape after dark. Taken across different neighbourhoods and public spaces, these images directly informed our design approach and served as visual references throughout the project.
